Land Development Opportunities as District Plan Changes Loom

The Wellington City Council has recently drafted a new District Plan that they hope will open up land development opportunities across the city and some surrounding suburbs. The proposed changes relate to the height of the buildings that are allowable, going forward you would be able to build up to 12 stories in some areas, and the new inner city minimum would be six stories. When changes in District Plans occur it can feel complicated to apply them to your own situation, Tararua Surveyors are a great first call to begin to get your head around whether the District Plan affects your own plan.

Getting The Most Out Of Your Land

Lots of people buy land, and it’s a bit of a holy grail in New Zealand, particularly across the Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Levin and Kapiti Coast regions. Most of us work really hard to get into a position where land development might be an option for us, but it seems like some people have a real knack for capitalising off their land purchase, rather than having it become a money trap. Could it be that the difference may just be that those who are capitilising are engaging experts in land surveying and subdivision?

Be Smart Right From The Start

When you are thinking about land development or subdivision it pays to hire a land surveyor right out of the gate. At Tararua Surveyors we understand that figuring out how a proposed District Plan can be an opportunity for you may be tricky, that’s why it’s best to hire expert help. Before you even start looking for land development options it pays to get in touch with those in the know. Our consultants are knowledgeable across all the resource consent regulations for the Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Levin and Kapiti Coast regions. We can walk you through Set Out and Monitoring for your construction project, and we use CAD software to ensure total precision.

Good Subdivision

It’s an exciting time to be part of the Wellington region, and along with the building height changes that are laid out in the District Plan, there is also a rezoning in the inner suburbs which allows for changes in intensity and opens up redevelopment options. If you are thinking of buying or you already own land in the Wellington area you may be in a better position than you were a few months back, your land development opportunities may just have opened up!
